In the KCKCC Early Childhood Education and Development (AS -UEC degree) program you will focus on birth to grade three, regular and special education including early intervention services and acquire a solid foundation of preprofessional skills. To ensure your success, you will get:

This program prepares you to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program in education, and to earn State of Kansas certification as a classroom teacher. Your first teaching job title could be:
- Autism Specialist

- Special education teacher
As a certified teacher, you will have employment options wherever young children learn, including:
- Public school districts
- Private schools
- Social service and health care agencies

- Childcare centers with pre-K programs
Students seeking to transfer into a bachelor’s degree should review Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education and Development-Child Development. Students seeking a degree that leads to immediate employment go to Associate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education or Certificate A and B.
Requirements for Admission to the Program
- Reading and Writing scores of 250 on the Accuplacer tests.
