CRJS 0108 - Oral Communications in the Correctional Environment

This course deals with verbal and non-verbal communication between sender and receiver in a Corrections Environment. Focus is on the necessary skills to defuse and arbitrate institutional disturbances so that enforcement action is not necessary. Special attention to problem areas of race, religion, criminal history, special needs and gang affiliations, are explored.
