Physical Therapist Assistant, A.A.S.

ACCREDITATION: Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association (CAPTE).

The Physical Therapist Assistant program, in accordance with the mission of Kansas City Kansas Community College, is dedicated to providing a student learning environment that will enhance and assess knowledge, clinical skills, and professional behaviors necessary for completion of the national board examination and successful practice as a PTA as outlined by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Guide for the Conduct of the Physical Therapist Assistant and Values - Based Behaviors for the Physical Therapist Assistant.

Requirements for Admission to the Program

  • This is a selective admission program. Application to the program does not constitute admission.
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA in program required courses and completion of pre-requisites (* below).
  • Application deadline is April 15th for Fall start and October 15th for Spring start.
  • Contact program coordinator for application, full requirements, and program-specific advising.

Total Hours for General Education Requirements Credit Hours: 17-19

**Math sequence is contingent upon previous high school mathematics background and transfer institution. Students should confer with an advisor to determine correct placement.

***Anatomy and Physiology courses completed more than seven (7) years prior to admission must be repeated.
