Students learn to integrate the theory of criminal justice and all its components: corrections, policing, the application of the criminal law, etc., into understandable concepts that the student can utilize in their pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. Students are educated in the various theories of not only the police profession but also the entire criminal justice profession, as defined by general educational theories and principles, procedures, and the expertise of the faculty. In this way, they are exposed to many theories and practical techniques through academic learning and practical application scenarios, designed to enhance their understanding of all entities within the criminal justice system, including corrections, policing, probation/parole, victim assistance, and criminal law.
This program of study is for students interested in completing a bachelor’s degree program in criminal justice. KCKCC has outlined the course of study in accordance with our articulation agreement with the University of Kansas.
