The KCKCC Early Childhood Education and Development (ECED) program prepares caregivers, teachers and leaders with evidence-based knowledge, skills, and attitudes to support young children in their growth and development through Universal Design for Learning. Our ECED program is designed to inspire and prepare students to create evidence-based all-inclusive programs that are responsive to the uniqueness (cultural, linguistic and ability diversity) of each child, family, and community. Certificate A and Certificate B options provide a seamless career pathway to an Applied Associates degree for students as they work or have family obligations. Courses are offered at several locations: Main Campus, the Pioneer Center in Leavenworth, KS, and area high schools. ECED courses are also available online.
Students seeking to transfer into a bachelor’s degree should review Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education and Development-Child Development. Students seeking to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program and to earn State of Kansas certification as a classroom teacher should review Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education and Development-Unified Early Childhood.
