ARTS 0231 - Three-Dimensional (3D) Design I (T►) 3 Credit Hours
The course introduces students to a wide range of approaches to sculptures, soft, hard, traditional or unconventional. We will focus on translating 2-D drawings into 3-D sculptures through making patterns, constructing and combining different shapes. Students will model with cardboards, clay, wire, plaster, fabric, paper, and plastic to physicalize their drawings into 3-D objects. Students will create both nonrepresentational and representational sculptures.
