PMED 0256 - Field Internship 10 Credit Hours
This course is the capstone of the program and provides the student an opportunity to apply didactic and lab practice content to the field environment. Activities are directed so that students gain familiarity with initiating and continuing care for injured and ill patients in a variety of field settings. Emphasis is placed on professional clinical practice guidelines for basic Paramedic procedures. Students will demonstrate critical thinking, team leadership, safe operation of equipment, and appropriate technology selection for desired therapeutic effects under the direct supervision of a Paramedic preceptor.
Pre-requisites: Successful completion of PMED 0229 and PMED 0245 with a grade of “C” or higher; Co-requisites: PMED 0230 .
