ENGL 0218 - Modern English Literature 3 Credit Hours
Major British authors are studied within the context of their times and traditions. Through a variety of readings, including poetry, drama, and the essay, the class will explore the changing aesthetic, social, political, and ethical conventions of our literary heritage. There will be selected readings in English literature beginning in the Romantic period with William Blake and concluding in the twentieth century. The survey may include works by Shelley, Keats, Tennyson, Yeats, Lawrence, Eliot, and others.
