ENGL 0211 - Modern American Literature (T►) 3 Credit Hours
Modern American Literature is a survey course which covers literature from the Civil War to the present. This course explores the birth of authentic American voices and themes. From local color writing and realism of the mid 1800’s, to naturalistic writing in the early twentieth century, through imagism, surrealism, and minimalism; this is an exciting time in American Literature, producing nine Nobel Prize winners including Toni Morrison, John Steinbeck, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner, and Eugene O’Neil.
