ARTS 0161 - Ceramics I 3 Credit Hours
Ceramics I is a one-semester study of creation of artworks in the medium of clay. The techniques of hand-building will be emphasized in this course with some basic introduction to wheel throwing. Topics covered will include The development of the form and functions of utilitarian and sculptural projects, The design quality of the project form, surface treatment, various concepts of aesthetics in ceramics and the history of ceramics as an art form.
