MUSI 0122 - Aural Skills I

1 Credit Hours

The purpose of this course is to develop aural skills in terms of sight reading and dictation, along with keyboard skills, reinforcing many concepts covered in Music Theory I MUSI 0121  . Topics covered will include sight reading and dictation in simple meters and compound, sight reading and dictation of melodies in major keys and minor keys (both stepwise and incorporating leaps, particularly focusing on tonic and dominant chords), as well as familiarity with alto and tenor clefs.
