LANG 0144 - SPANISH FOR HERITAGE LEARNERS

The main purpose of the Spanish for Heritage Learners course is to help students become familiar with a variety of Spanish registers and to develop learning strategies that will allow them to move with increasing confidence in multiple socio-linguistic contexts beyond the classroom. Projects, readings and class discussions are used to explore, reflect, and gain practical understanding on two levels of cultural knowledge: self and intercultural. Taught exclusively in Spanish, this course seeks to explore and analyze topics that are relevant to understanding the Spanish heritage students’ culture.
